SPS Club T-Shirt

Hey everyone,

This is a heads up that we are taking orders for a club t-shirt which will cost $8.00.  There's a sign an order sheet on the whiteboard in the SPS Lounge or email the size and quantity that you want to me at dmorga1@students.towson.edu.  Make sure you place your order by Tuesday, May 11.  Sorry for the short timeframe, but we wanted to make sure that we get the shirts by the end of the semester.  A mockup of the shirt is attached.

Also, we're planning one last SPS trip to the Science Center in Baltimore on May 19th to see Hubble 3D.  The schedule isn't out yet for that week, but the showtime is generally 2:20.  We'll send another email out when the time is definite.

Thanks,
Derek

SPS Zone Meeting Update

Hey everyone,

As most of you (hopefully) know, Towson SPS is hosting the 2010 SPS Zone 4 Meeting.  Just as a reminder, the zone meeting is being held Friday, April 16th and Saturday, April 17th and the registration fee is $15.  Friday is planned as more of an informal, social event.  There will be a planetarium show and a few activities planned.  The presentations will take place Saturday with lunch included.  Check out http://www.towson.edu/sps/zonemeeting2010/index.html for more information and http://www.towson.edu/sps/zonemeeting2010/zonemeetingagenda.pdf for a tentative schedule for Saturday and list of abstracts.

If you are interested in hearing about what other SPS chapters are up to and learning a bit about your faculty's research, please register as soon as possible at http://www.towson.edu/sps/zonemeeting2010/registration.html so that we can get a more accurate count for food Friday night and lunch on Saturday.  At this point, we can't guarantee a t-shirt, but if there are any left over you will be welcome to one.  We are also collecting registration fees from Towson students ahead of time to help fund some of the expenses for the meeting.  Please see an SPS officer in Smith Hall room 415 with your registration money.

Thanks,
Derek

P.S.  We have a few students from out of town staying overnight Friday.  If you are a student living on campus and are willing to house a visiting student, please reply and let us know as soon as possible.
