Dear Department Chairs:

The Graduate School at the University of Maryland, College Park, invites your juniors and seniors to its 17th Annual Graduate School Preview Day on Thursday, October 11, 2012.  Preview Day will be held on campus in the Colony Ballroom of the Adele H. Stamp Student Union from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to interact with representatives of our outstanding graduate programs here at the University of Maryland. They will also learn about the processes for applying to graduate schools and financing their graduate education. In addition, they will hear from current University of Maryland students about success strategies for graduate studies. Here is a summary of what promises to be an informative program:

8:30 a.m.         Registration and Continental Breakfast
9:00 a.m.         Welcome and Opening Remarks

12:30 p.m.       Luncheon and Graduate Student Panel
1:30 p.m.         Networking Session
2:00 p.m.         University of Maryland Research Center, Laboratory, and Campus Tours

As the director of the new Graduate School Office for Diversity Initiatives, I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and your students. It is my hope to build relationships with and provide support to your students who are interested in pursuing a master's or doctoral degree.
