Subject: REU Program Updates--Reminder from IBP
Dear David:
We are gearing up for our fall reminder to students and their mentors about applying to REUs or other summer research opportunities for next summer. As you may know, we contact several thousand students from our student directory (the majority of whom are underrepresented minority students) to remind them to apply. They can search for and contact programs and opportunities posted on our site, www.pathwaystoscience.org<http://www.pathwaystoscience.org>.
If you are not sure what programs we have listed, you can find our current listing of programs at your institution here: http://www.pathwaystoscience.org/Institution.asp?sort=Institution&subsort=TowsonU
If you would like to update a program, click the "Click here to submit program updates<http://www.pathwaystoscience.org/programform.asp?sort=MAI-AcadiaNP-TeacherRanger>" link at bottom of program info page.
If you would like to post a new program that is not yet listed, you can fill out our online program form here: http://www.pathwaystoscience.org/programform.asp or send me your information in an email.
If you are not sure whether your program should be posted, first please read our posting criteria: http://www.pathwaystoscience.org/whatwepost.asp
If you are not offering your program this year or need to make other changes please feel free to let us know. Also, if you have other colleagues who are working with REUs please feel free to pass this along to them.
We will send out general announcements to faculty, staff and students as well as reminders to students to apply over the next few weeks before the holiday season. Soliciting your updates is the first step in that process.
Thank you for helping us get accurate information out about your program to potential students!
Best regards.
David
